Plans

I just bought 50 ACEO sized masonite boards on ebay! This well be a new substrate for ACEO's for me. But I've used masonite before and do like it. These panels are thinner and I am hoping they'll fit into standard trading card pages, thus the purchase. I just think a rigid "card" seems more substantial and can be displayed in many ways whereas the canvas only "cards" are flimsy, risk fraying, warping or creasing. Of course they were cheaper to mail and there is no risk of them breaking in the mail like the wood panels I currently use. Oh well, I am pretty certain these Masonite boards will be a great alternative, serving enough purpose to satisfy me and collectors plus they are acid free and perfectly suited to paint.

ACEO's...what are they?

I just got done changing the color and such of this blog after looking at a couple friends' pages. I'm tempted to play around with a shiny new banner too, but I'd be sitting here all night playing with that. For now this will suffice.

So I'm working on new ACEO's. This post will not include a photo (yet) because geez, it's dark at about 4:30 'round here now and I can't seem to get proper photos without natural light. I'm excited though to get back on Ebay with ACEO's again. I miss that!

For those of you who don't know, ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Editions and Originals". It's an odd acronym but it's a popular collector item on Ebay. They are miniature works of art, the size of a baseball card. People collect work from all over the world from very skilled and reputable artists on ebay. It's really pretty neat. Wish I could see a collection some day.

What's happening

It's been so long since I've posted anything on here. Just to let you all know, I am still around and painting! This picture is a larger portrait I did recently. I am beginning a new round of ACEO's! So I expect to be back on Ebay soon. Everything is going well. I've been at my job now for a few months but I really do miss staying home to paint and being able to look out a window. But I must admit I'm grateful to have an income.

back to painting

On ebay again.

I promise I will be back....But this might be the last for awhile. I have to take a little break, possible job stuff.

Today I finally had finches visit my feeder. It's taken my yard 9 years to "grow up" enough so that birds have sufficient perches and sanctuaries. I've also placed a humming bird feeder up and I've got a family of robins hanging out, picking around in my yard all day this week. I've got admit it's really nice to be home all day to see all this life that goes on in my yard. Guess it gives me something to look forward to in my old age (retirement). Only about 25 years til then :)

cows

Cows, well farms in general, just put me at peace. I think I might end up living on one someday.

Here's my new auction, entitled "Breakfast".
